The Juneteenth Citywide Celebration will be a Historical event. We welcome your Participation. If you or your organization, company or business would like to participant and secure a space, please complete the Registration Form below. The following are confirmed events.
We are putting together a Ms. and Mr. Juneteenth Selection Committee. If you are interested in serving on this committee, complete the Registration Form below and state your interest in the "Describe Your Participation/Contribution" box.
La Crosse Fire Department will be providing a display with handouts, the fire safety smoke house, and a fire apparatus.
La Crosse Police Department will be providing:
1. Advertising for Juneteenth and the Event via our social media. 2. Police Reserves to assist with pedestrian crossing of Copeland Ave., or other assistance as needed. 3. Squad Car Display with ability to tour the technology. 4. Bike Patrol and Display 5. Boat Patrol on River as patrol and display. 6. Neighborhood Response Officer (NRO) present at the event. 7. School Resource Officers (SRO - DARE and GREAT) 8. K-9 Display 9. Table with information, Recruitment Material 10. Kids ID (Fingerprint and Photo) 11. Home-made Chili to Event Participants
La Crosse County Historical Society will be providing a tour for 28 Juneteenth participants. This will be fun and exciting tour discovering La Crosse's beautiful riverfront, historic districts, breathtaking overlooks and scenic parks from an unique, guided trolley bus!
The trip normally begins downtown at the La Crosse Area Convention & Visitors Bureau in Riverside Park. Arrangements have been made by the La Crosse Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to leave and return to Southside Neighborhood Center during the celebration.
Participants will also enjoy the scenery of La Crosse while relaxing on the air-conditioned trolley bus. The bright red trolley bus is a nostalgic re-creation of the types of vehicles that traversed the streets of La Crosse in days gone by. Enjoy interesting narration provided by the La Crosse County Historical Society as you tour historic neighborhoods and establishments. The Tour is from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Our La Crosse Loggers will have their Mascot, their Street Team setup and run the Logger Inflatable Hitting Machine and will try to find a Logger alum to make an appearance.
